The Altkin teams are thrilled to announce the launch of the first ink cartridge under the HP SecuReuse program: the HP 963 XL. The HP SecuReuse program results from a collaboration between HP and Altkin, enabling flawless use of remanufactured cartridges thanks to an innovative HP chip reset solution.

The HP SecuReuse range guarantees a reprogrammed OEM chip that delivers exceptional performance and optimal reliability.
This breakthrough combines the exceptional print quality of OWA cartridges with the same functionalities as original cartridges, offering a smooth printing experience without any firmware update issues.

Our OWA HP 963 XL with HP SecuReuse

The HP 963 XL is the first cartridge series launched under the HP SecuReuse program. This highly demanded product is among the current best sellers in inkjet printing. It will be available mid-December exclusively under the OWA brand.*

New HP SecuReuse products are easily identifiable by the pictogram featured on the OWA product box label and on the cartridge itself.

OWA remanufactured consumables are already recognized for their print quality, equivalent to that of original cartridges. The HP SecuReuse range now ensures identical performance and functionalities. With the HP SecuReuse solution, you get the perfect combination of quality, durability, and compatibility!

Maximum reliability with the same functionalities as original cartridges

All components and chips are now OEM-based. The HP SecuReuse program marks a significant turning point in the remanufactured printing consumables industry. We are proud to have been selected by HP as one of three official partners for the HP SecuReuse program. Additional HP inkjet and toner references will follow in 2025.

Cartridges with an HP SecuReuse chip offer the exact same functionality as their original counterparts. The user experience is significantly improved, providing a seamless process without any glitches: no confusing error messages during cartridge installation, along with full activation of toner and ink level management (ILM).

Another major advancement is that firmware updates are no longer a concern. The chips in cartridges from this program are reset to ensure optimal compatibility with HP printers. These new products will also be fully compatible with the HP+ program and managed print services (MPS) platforms.

What is the HP SecuReuse program?

Developed as part of the European Ecodesign Work Plan, the HP SecuReuse program promotes the remanufacturing of HP printing consumables, ensuring perfect compatibility between remanufactured cartridges and HP printers. This initiative extends the lifecycle of printing consumables.

The chip reset solution is a true innovation, leveraging the industrial expertise of our factory in Poland. Altkin's and HP’s R&D teams collaborated closely on this program to ensure patent compliance and adherence to the manufacturer’s specifications. The goal was to provide a reliable chip reset solution that guarantees full cartridge functionality during its second life.

A strong signal for the market

Until now, HP has recommended the use of original consumables, often citing inferior performance of remanufactured alternatives. With the HP SecuReuse program, HP is now fostering an environment that supports the reuse of its cartridges in Europe.

Altkin further solidifies its position as a leader in responsible printing across Europe, continuing to provide sustainable, high-quality alternatives for all printing needs.
